Default IMCO Steering Ram Leaky Seals

I've read some older posts on rebuilding the imco ram. The biggest problem I hear is getting the end cap off the ram.
I just took my rams off today....and while removing the hyd hose from the ram the end cap actually turned. They were both hand tight.... Frightning !.
I recently talked to Imco and for $200 each plus ship they will rebuild. I mentioned doing it myself...but they do not have SEAL KITS, which I find hard to believe. I can't seem to find any online. The pary number I have from their catalog, for a 1 in shaft is a SK57.
it might be an old catalog.
Does anyone have any current information they could share on parts and the process once the cap is removed ?
Greatly appreciated !

Did you try TCM in Cali

I had IMCO do mine last time too. Very fast turn around, and they installed new decals free of charge also. Quality company.

If you have a decent size local hydraulic shop, take it there and they should be able to match the seals.
The seal costs for my Marine Machine ram was about $25.

Thanks everyone for responses.... I did talk to Charlie at Imco and he said 2 day turn around.
I had my local hyd shop look at the ram...looks like there is 4 o- rings in the end cap. The 1in shaft seal in the rod end appears to be a little hard ( old). Anybody no where to purchase a seal kit ?
Im leaning on sending them out to imco
Thanks again

Like they said already.....pretty much any hydraulic shop has the seals/o rings and you can probably buy them all for $20-$30. My WIFE rebuilt our’s after she matched them up at a shop. Spent like $40 and got other things too.

I had my local hyd shop make me 4 new hoses
they did not have the right o-rings
the ram end caps came off easy....they were hand tight. All the o-rings look good.
Thank you all again for the info.
