Anyone else waiting on parts from Mercury? Ordered some backordered fuel filter canisters and oil filters from BAM awhile back and the ship date was supposed to be mid April. Just wondering if anyone else is waiting on backordered stuff to come in or how long it took to get something recently.

Ahhh, i was wondering….Walmart, for 20+ yrs ?, used to carry the merc/quicksilver spin on fuel filters / seperator s and now they don’t have’m. So that ^^^ explains that.. I bought , and received, a bunch from michigan motors over the winter.

There are tons of alternatives for fuel and oil filters. K&N and WIX both make superior filters. There is little I will buy that is OEM these days. A little research you can determine who manufactures for mercury.
The good news, you will save money if that is a consideration.

Backorder situation from Mercury has been crazy since Covid. Slowly, very slowly getting better.
I asked my factory guys at the Miami boat show - how can you run out of filters? I actually might have have said - how the h**l can you run out of filters?
It turns out whoever was making them for Mercury - with pretty much no advance notice - stopped!
In our eyes that should be easy to solve, but as it was explained to me for an entity as large as Mercury it is more complicated. Sourcing, testing, verifications, etc.
We probably have 300 or so part numbers on back order at any given time. And the target release days change frequently.

Guess this is pretty common. I'll give it another week or so before I buy just the fuel filters/o-rings and aftermarket oil filters. I'll keep my parts order in though for next years spring service. No big deal
