to be fair here theres quite a few that could break the 200 mark if you delete the start speed i think it makes 3/4 mile kinda pointless maybe set the mark at one mile?

Is that correct that a 36 cat from PBC with 450s did141.2 mph. I knew they were getting into the mid 130s but that's the first I've heard of an outboard pleasure cat going over 140...crazy speeds they are getting out of modern outboard cats. And to think a supercharged V10 might be around the corner to add another 100 hp per side...

That is amazing. Out of curiosity, how long is the run and how fast are they going at the start line? I am thinking that it must be different from the LOTO Shootout?

Maybe but that is one badass ride! I love the sound of the engines. Would like to know more about them.

3/4 mile and normally 40mph start but this year they allowed for a hot start.

I like the idea of 3/4 mile with a hot start to spice things up and get the speeds up, but it certainly was a little misleading if you compare to other similar events. Lots of people asked those questions on social media and it was dodged a lot. Just say it like it is.

That thing was going faster at the start than my boat can achieve

204 is badass no matter what!!!

All these boats are bad azz, but to compare a hot start to a 40 mph start is an apple/oranges kind of thing. These speeds are incredible!!

It would be interesting to see a map overlay of Smith's run at this event and how he ran at the old 1 mile course with the 40mph starting box at LOTO.

By this I mean where was he crossing the start (MPH wise) in relation to having to build up to the speed in a regulated 1 mile course, As I see it, they delivered a 1 mile course and marketed it as a 3/4 - once a cat is on plane, it just builds speed
