Just looking for some feedback
What is the most important thing to look for when buying a trailer?
Are there any options to consider that are must haves?

Well designed and easy to load the boat.

Must haves:

• EOH brakes in todays world.
• Spare tire/hub.
• I am rebuilding an older Myco and one thing I am doing is adding more lights so no one can say they didn't see my brake or turn signals.
• Reverse lights to help when I back up in the dark.

Definitely the weight rating on the axles... if you are on the upper end of the axle capacity id go one size larger.
-Name brand tire with a good weight rating.
-EOH brakes as mentioned above.
- Electric jack
-Lots of tool boxes for tools, Jack's and straps
-LED lights
-2 mounted spare tires with hub assemblies
-Drive Guard

I'm just going to focus on what I personally consider to be "must haves" in a well-built trailer.

- Bunks that not only fully support the hull, but also aid in guiding the boat onto the trailer straight
- Well executed welds
- Paint that actually holds up to road debris getting kicked up
- Tidy, fully protected and supported wiring with nothing hanging down
- No sharp edges or burrs anywhere
- Axles / bearings / tires that are not at the ragged edge of their specifications
- Bow stops that do not rub through the gelcoat or paint on the hull
- A bare minimum of adjustments - since they will invariably drift out of adjustment
- Basically, everything that doesn't come on a Venture trailer

**What I consider a must have on boat trailers

1) Don't buy a trailer that only has two bunks. One on either side. Have the boat supported on multiple points that contours the hull.
2) Spare tire mount and tire
3) Torsion bar axle
4) Post Trailer Guide-Ons

**If you have money left over.

1) Electric over hydraulic brakes
2) Pressurized hubs

I will add a couple things.

• If its a steel trailer NO box steel, they rust from inside out fresh or salt doesn't matter.
• One thing I hated about my steel Myco was the bunk supports were a box steel, I beam would be better, that way all can be painted and no bare steel to rust.
• Like others have said multiples bunks to guide the boat on, but most Myco's seem to do that anyway.
