I took the boat out today for the first time and it was AWESOME!!! Took a friend and a full tank of gas (130 gal) and took a run on the Grand River and was easily able to run up to 5,000 rpm and have a LOT of throttle left. Rolled into it from 3500 to 5000 and it really pulls hard. So far everything and more that I was hoping for. I have contacted an OSO member about borrowing a pair of Bravo 1 26" props but now having run it I am seriously wondering if I may need 28's. There is that much throttle left!! FYI the speed was 67 mph on GPS at the 5,000 rpm which is the fastest to date this boat has ever gone and it was a rock solid ride. Thankfully no chine walk.

Do more testing before throwing money at props, just because there is more throttle left doesn't mean the engine is going to make more power or rev higher, glad its working out

According to the dyno, they don't make power past 5k so that is what I'm planning on as WOT. Looking forward to a great season. Thanks

What props are on it??? A 2" increase in pitch is about a 400rpm reduction and it takes about 60hp more per engine to regain that 400rpms.
Just because there is more room for the actual throttle levers to move forward, doesn't mean the carbs are not close to WOT.
Many carbs and throttle bodies are wide open when the throttles are only at 3/4 way forward.

They are B1 - 24's. The way it ran to 5000 rpm is why I think there's a lot left in it. I'm not saying I could have run to 6000, just that there is a lot left in it. Looking forward to getting it dialed in the best that I can.

You don’t really know anything until you run current props WOT and long enough to loosen up the trim to see where they they end up.
