Hi - im working on a basic super safe starter tune for snipers on mostly stock marine engines that shd still make good stock power - assuming max rpm around 4500.
Ive come up with this - thoughts?

It has stock heads and bottom end, cam is a Crane 169611 and has a single plane intake. There is no issue with the idle timing either, just runs smoother with 14 degrees. Not really a mas performance tune, you won't really see much noticeable difference in performance with timing on a NA engine in a boat unless you put the engine on a dyno so it can be measured, this just works fine and is safe.

sounds good- yes i have backed the boat on trailer and loaded it up around 2500, turned dizzy till max rpm and back it down a notch for max performance. made a world of difference on my fishing boat.. bone stock 260 with 80s swirlport 193 64cc heads, that thing FLIES over the water with a 21p stainless 4 blade - cruises easily at 2500rpm 25mph. Anyway im rambling - thanks for the info. Ran a friends tune that was kinda close to mine with a bit more timing on a gen4 454 lake boat yesterday - that thing was RIPPING with the sniper. Power on tap like a double pumper.. very very nice!
