Hi - have a 2017 Searay 300slx here, 4/3 setup at 26p - coworker went out on it with the customer and said it was blowing out and running up to 5000rpms and topping out at 42mph. Any recommendations? I think the torque of the 496 is the issue for the light boat and needs more grab and not so much pitch. Maybe a 4/4 setup 28pitch?

496 in a 2017? Should be an 8.2 MAG or 8.2 MAG HO. Single or twin? There shouldn't be any issue with blowout on a 4x3 propset unless you are overtrimming. Guessing it is a 2.20 ratio drive? If it is the old style elephant ear propset a bit of cup might help. That or go with the XR propset.

Apologies yes it's a 502, my bad. Blows out under accelerating, 42mph max speed at 4900rpms.. currently 26pitch 4x3. Maybe 30 4x4?
