Default 04 fountain stringers

I’m looking at purchasing an 04 27’ fever, I noticed there’s flat bar and bolts on the stringers right about where motor mounts would be. Was this factory fountain or was this a patch for rotted stringers?

That would not be factory that I’m aware of anyway. I spoke with glass Dave a couple years back and got educated pretty quickly as to how fountain installed their stringers. The way he explained it is they basically built the stringers and set in place and glassed over all. Problem is it’s like a little tunnel system under all of them. Water gets in one area and eventually finds its way under all. His exact words to me as I found to be true is if you identify an area that’s wet and in need of repair just figure about three times more than you’d expect. If the price is right and you’re handy with glass work go for it.
