I just got a pair of CMI "sound eliminator" mufflers. Are the clamps enough to keep them on? There is a small hole at the base on them and I was thinking on clamping them on then drilling a small hole so I could thread in a self tapping screw? would that be ok / needed?

I just pulled my clamp mufflers off dry exhaust.
I had to really tap them off with my deadblow hammer.
I don't think they would fall off.
Peace of mind insurance if you drill and tap for a good machine screw.
