Best practice for seal holes though stringer or transom.
Need to drill through stringer and transom for engine mounting and new holes for k-planes.
Looking for the best practice to seal the stringer and transom after drilling.
My thought is to oversize a bit, seal with resin, and glue in some stainless tubing that fits the intended hole size. Making the stainless tube length is a little less, so there is enough nut/bolt bite and tension.
It a good resin seal enough?

After i mentioned that i used 4200 to seal up the holes i was told by everyone on this site to use fiberglass resin. Soaks in and seals up the best. I cant speak to your sleeve idea. May just be overkill. Good luck with your project.

think disimilar material likely wouldn’t seal. Probably just stick to the resin.
