Default B-W 72c clutch question

pulled apart a 72c that came with the engines as it had metal in the oil. it ate the reverse clutch plate and I noticed it has an extra forward plate and disc which as I understand it has to be machined to fit. what do I measure or look for to know that was done correctly. It also was missing one reverse plate and disc which I assume is why it ate up the reverse plate. they dont remove reverse plates when adding forward plates do they? pretty sure they screwed up putting it together last time as I know who did it and he gets in a hurry with stuff so who knows.

So were there 7 or 8 .060 forward clutches. and 6 or 7 .065-.067 steels? I did one with some careful machining, selective snap rings, etc using ford red eagle aod clutches and kolene salt bath nitrided or whatever you want to call them steels. worked good. Had one come in from customer from Va done by a guy in florida, had the bronze clutches, mods done similiar so there was 1 extra one. It was off the hub and teeh were folded over, it sti;ll functioned but was acting purely as a spacer. we pissed around stacking it up and finally conceded to take the xtra out and set clearances properly and ensure all clutches were actually splined on the hub, Smitty

it has 8 .060 forward clutch discs and 7 .068 steels. according to Marc at BAM the driveline version (these) only used two reverse discs with one steel and he can machine it for 3 and 2 which will save the case so the cases are going to him this week.
