Default Great Lakes Grand Prix Day No. 2—Getting Defensive

Lake Michigan showed off its evil side for yesterday's offshore powerboat races in Michigan City, Ind., https://www.speedonthewater.com/grea...ing-defensive/

Racing was entertaining. Definitely have more respect for the small teams. (rum runners) these are the true racers. Not the unlimited guys who feel they have to trailer their exotic cars to the race. Who really cares about how much money you have. Get over yourself. Not one other racing sport does this. Just sayin.

The back stretch had quite a few surprises on it. There was no rhythm and it was getting bigger as the day went on. I was happy to have a bad MF throttleman!

Everyone I know who has raced there calls it "hard water." I'm guessing that's not far off the mark for you.

That's one way to look at, I suppose, and you're certainly entitled to your opinion.

Another is that all that outrageous hardware contributes to the overall show. That's my opinion.

To each his own.

Enjoyed it
Glad the fog, rain, and weather improved enough to race
