i like the skaters with out the bustle in back it just looks better .......i dont think it does anything for aerodynamics just personal looks

You're correct in your thinking that they don't help with aerodynamics. I've had several discussions with Pete about them (including tunnel extensions) and he said that neither of them do anything to help performance, in fact they just add weight. They're just another way to customize/personalize a Skater that no other manufacturer offers. I had both built onto my original 30 build back in 2005 before they were popular, and I actually got the idea from the 40' raceboat "Tomcat" that was being built at the time I ordered my 30. My current 36 has one also, without the tunnel extension.
