I'm planning on buying a 1988 Crusader 24 because it looks like a nice and fun boat. I've never heard of them and can't find much information. Seems to me like a west coast boat because it's a left hand drive, and I don't see that here on the east coast. Power is a twin turbo big block and bravo 1. Any reason I shouldn't buy this?

The Crusader Boats 23 Offshore was made between 1985-1989 in Anaheim, California. It's a very narrow beam, 6 feet 6 inches, with a sharp entry and around 24 degrees at the transom. At Howard they changed the bottom from being a straight-v 'till a narrow pad with a notch. Crusader maybe made around 30 examples and then sold the mold to the new owner of Howard Custom Boats, the late Gene Willen. He ended up making only 12 examples and moved on to larger boats where the money was. The Crusader built ones vary in build quality, the Howard boats are top-notch quality. I find the boats really attractive and a friend owned a 1994 Howard and his did mid 70s with a stock Merc. 454 Magnum and a Bravo drive. I'd check the boat for rot and if it's solid I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
The red with an outboard is the first one by Crusader. Greg Briles raced it with great success.
