Anyone using Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries? Thinking of switching over.

Curious to what benefits to be had?

25lbs compared to 75 bls for group 31
much longer battery life 10-15 year vs 2-5 years
much more useable battery power, you should not discharge AGM more than 50% or risk damaging battery Lithium Iron Phosphate have no memory and can be discharged to 95% and have 100% power and volts down to 5 % of capacity.
My problem is I never use boat for more than 2 hours at a time and AGM batteries need 2-6 hours to fully charge. This causes a battery memory issue and they have a shortened life.

I have 4 Battleborn 275 amp Lithium 8ds in my Trawler for the house bank that came new on the boat when I bought it last year. Great for house batteries - though be careful to never charge them if temperature is below 32 F or 0 C they will be damaged. Most new ones have smart enough BMS (Battery Mgt system) to avoid charging when too cold but always check. These batteries are also capable of taking in charging AMPs at very high levels - this can overwork the dumber alternators that don't know to throttle themselves and fry them so do your homework. As a starting battery - not sure the cost is worth it.....as stated above, it is the capacity and low weight that is attractive so replacing "House" batteries that weigh a ton makes more sense to me. My 2 cents.

They are superior in all aspects of performance compared to legacy batteries. However, they can be cost prohibitive for most seasonal boaters.

So I have a Cruisers Yacht 500 express. I was changing out 2 12v 100ah house batteries every other year due to Marina Power can go off frequently and it would run the batteries down. The Batteries are in a 24v configuration. They were AGM and cost 250 each and are heavy AF and the space they go in is difficult to move that weight around. Bought some battle born batteries and they weigh like 25 lbs.. So far have lasted 3 years and never a problem. Power goes off at marina or a breaker gets tripped and batteries run down to cut off limit and are not damaged. Power comes back on and they charge quickly. Price was like 1900 for the pair. I will never go back to lead in that setup. Just for the fact of moving something that heavy in and out of the boat.

This is why I want to switch! my 75 LB group 31 Batteries only last 2 years and at $400 each after 2 years it is more expensive than Lithium. AGM batteries need from 2-6 hours to fully charge, I dont run that long when I boat, and since I am in rack storage plugging in the charges is not possible. Running AGM's like this will kill a battery after 2 years since they have memory where lithium batteries have no memory and can be run to zero without damaging batteries
