Thank you, for the article Jason. I can't wait to take on the electric record later this month. Big Bird has been very fast in testing

Thanks. It's been a really sweet project thus far. The powertrain was developed in-house at Princeton and in collaboration with Flux Marine. The outboard frame is a typical Pro-Outboard hydroplane frame made from steel. The lower unit is a Bass LU, also typical for Pro-Outboard boats.

Sponsorship maybe? Looks like the logo is sharing space with some others.

Yes, they are a team sponsor. Obviously, the hull has no relation to Cigarette or their boats. They have been a financial partner of the team.

Thank you, Tom. Looks like we need to advertise the PEP race more often, lol. The race this year will be held on April 15th and 16th at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach https://www.navalengineers.org/Educa...Propulsion-PEP

Would love to have you, and any other OSO members, out to the event. We will be running Big Bird and our autonomous C-stock hydroplane in the circle track race. In Big Bird, we are aiming for a 75 mph average lap speed on the 1 mile oval course. Giving us a ~4 minute finish for the 5-mile race. This year, second place took 19.5 minutes to finish. Although a couple of teams are working on much faster boats to compete with us. Namely the University of Michigan. Rumors of 500+ hp in a 22-foot Liberator tunnel hull.
