OG OSO Member AND his wife could use our help... ToddW & Stephanie
#1
It seems like a million years ago now, but ~20 actual years ago, I bought my 37' Active Thunder from ToddW & Stephanie Waaramaa. I actually met them at the Miami Boat Show when Monsoon was on display, not knowing just a year later I would own the boat; as they wanted to get something smaller to pull their kids for watersports on Lake Havasu. I flew into Lake Havasu for the Spring Desert Storm Poker Run, and that was my sea trial for Monsoon.
Within a couple weeks, the deal was done. But here's the awesome part:
The same week, Todd's best friend bought a 33' Elimnator in Kentucky. We hatched a plan to meet in the middle. BobbyB and I headed to Kentucky picked up the catamaran, and kept heading West.
Todd and his best friend headed east with Monsoon in tow; and we met for a weekend at LOTO. We grabbed a condo for couple days and rode around in both boats for a day or two, and then headed back in opposite directions.
This is from their daughter:
If you can see fit to address the GoFundMe, that would be super appreciated by Todd and Stephanie. They have very, VERY, long roads ahead of them.

In early July 2023 our Mom, Stephanie, was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, a highly aggressive form of cancer. She is undergoing a long 6-month regimen of chemotherapy. Then the next step will be followed by a double mastectomy with reconstruction in early 2024. She will then continue with many weeks of immunotherapy treatments after surgery to ensure that the cancer is fully removed.
Just a few weeks later our Dad, Todd, had an unrelated MRI that showed rare large bilateral carotid body tumors that required surgical removal. One of the tumors was removed without issue however when the second was removed, 5 weeks later, there were complications and he suffered a stroke on October 3. This resulted in an extended 10-day hospital stay. The stroke affected his speech, the inability to swallow which led to the need for a feeding tube, and also caused severe weakness and lack of motion in his right arm. Dad will require months of acute rehabilitation before returning to work.
Both Stephanie & Todd will need to have extended time off work during both of their treatments. While both our parents have good benefits there are many expenses which are not covered.
We are deeply appreciative of any donations and support.
With sincere gratitude, Meagan Waaramaa-Radney and Cole Waaramaa

I was there when you sea trialed monsoon. I have a pic of everyone at the sandbar with Todd.
man, I am SUPER bummed to hear this. I will log on and donate tonight. Thanks for letting everyone know Brian. I really hope both are ok. I haven’t seen or talked to Todd in a LONG time. But he is a great guy. As I’m sure his wife is too.
