Are you driving an RV or something? Do you not fly (or on a "no fly list" ). Seems like a long ride to make sans a boat!

I take my mom (89 Years old) back and forth to north dakota from arizona, she spends the summer in ND until this year she still drove , well this year her heath is not as good so had you put her in Assisted living, not going back to AZ i had already booked my flight out there. she doesn't need the car anymore. and i still want to go visit her, then since i'm driving back and key west is that week why not just drive down, plus that way i can visit Rob at LOTO, have a meeting in Atlanta, spend couple nights at Gilberts,
Just make an adventure of it. plus i have the time and love seeing the country, this will be one long ass trip thou.

My kid had a job in Portland for 10 weeks and wanted me to drive out there (from SE FL)..........I said fly out "rent a car" instead. Got a Hertz rental Camry for $3200 and driivng round trip would have cost that.
