Default Looking for a $20-25k fun boat. 27 Fever?

Looking for a fun, 70mph+, reliable and affordable boat for next summer. I know, one can dream. Looking for a fun and fast boat to use when we aren't taking our cruiser out. Budget probably has me looking at 27 Fever but I wish a 29. Upper Chesapeake Bay, calm water, 2-5 people to cruise around to the various restaurants, maybe a poker run and even cruises.

I know the 27 has a smallish fuel tank but it'll have to do for now. Would love a 29 but I'm not spending that much.

If you know of any sweet 27s for sale let me know. This cash is burning a hole in my pocket, for no good reason since the season is over for me in this area.

NADA values are super low so I am hopeful I can find a 27 for well under 25k.

Thanks.

If you find a sweet 27 Fever for under 25 I’d be willing to bet you will put another 50K in it your first year. Don’t get too focused on buying a bargain performance boat. I’ve tried that before. Spent double the purchase price in the first year just to get it lake worthy.

I have a very clean 21 Shadow with Merc 250XS for 27k on a nice steel trailer. I'd deliver anywhere in US for a reasonable fee.

Yes, but would you take 25K for it?

I believe a 27 Fountain at 25K would be a basket case that would need at least another 25K spent on it. You are probably going to be more in the range of a 90's Baja 24 or 25'. Fun boats for sure, but very few of them will run 70 mph.

I have one that I plan on listing but with all the other ones I’ve seen for sale it’ll be around 40k.

I’ve only used it twice, like you said small fuel tank, everything else is just a touch small, cockpit is a little tight, cuddy is small. Other than that it isn’t bad by any means.

My 1st powerboat was a 2004 27' Fountain with a 496HO.

Put 200 hours on it over the span of 4.5 years with just basic maintenance.

Even though the tank is only 60 gallons the boat is amazing on fuel. It got a true 2-2.5 MPG under basically any condition.

That being said that boat was more in the 35k-40k range. 25k is going to get you a clapper with a worn out carb motor most likely.
