Default Catching Up With Stu Jones—How Mercury Racing Bought A Round In Key West

Hard to believe this happened just a couple of weeks ago, https://www.speedonthewater.com/catc...d-in-key-west/

A light read, for sure, but a fun story.

If I'm not mistaken the event organizers asked Mr. Jones to give a safety briefing. Take it up with them.

Angry much, Daniel? Good lord.

He doesn`t organize the Randevous and in all the years Ive been going I`ve never seen him there .
I have no issues with a safety meeting and suggestions but (I`m paraphazing) " I see most of you aren`t wearing life jackets and that`s just not acceptable you should be ashamed of yourselves" blah blahblah ... I was like dude go F yourself.

I`m not angry, why would I care what some blow hard from Floriduh thinks?
I didn`t appreciate being lectured by someone who has nothing to do with that run. Lecture all you want in Floriday on runs you put together, that`s all.
1 minute later I forgot all about him and went on with my day till this post reminded me ..

Thank you Matt, have a super day.

His message isn’t for you. It’s for the dozens of others, with less experience, similar to those who have lost their life’s over the past 20 years.

Give the journalists a reprieve.

1. Guy runs the biggest poker run company in existence (so his experience supersedes all others)
2. LOTO has had some horrible accidents that could have been prevented
3. If the event stays safe then you will have future ones to enjoy!

Plus the organizers want to show law enforcement/ insurers that they were doing everything possible to keep the event safe for everyone.

You mention you felt like a 5 yr old and your post reflects that you were right!
