Looking for some fun gearhead chat here. Looks like there may be another heavy hitter entering the marine engine world! I don't know much about Nelson but from what I've seen over the years they make some really cool stuff! Hopefully they run as good as they look!
This is what Offshore Powerboating is all about! Well at least it used to be. I'm tired of seeing the same Merc engines in/on the same boats. Shoot the only difference between boats nowadays is the paint and that's starting to get hard to differentiate.
People used to build something custom, different, unique works of art trying to make their boat better in some way, let it be looks, performance, speed, sound, or just bragging rights! Powerboating now is just acting like you have enough money to drink with other people that have money.
I know there's lots of boring reasons why the sport went this direction but us true enthusiasts can only hope for more engine builders like Nelson to step up and help us build and design Offshore Powerboats like they are meant to be!

Wow - way cool. Those guys were on top of their game when it came to cars. Will be neat to see them hit the market.
Q: why put the alternator(?) in the bilge... Packaging I guess, but that seems like a bad idea....

I love how Retter was $hitting on those guys on facebook. Spent 10 years building a turbo motor that went nowhere but hes THE BEST and everything NRE has done he`s been there done that .. lol I think he`s starting to believe his own bull$hit lies.
Those small blocks look so little and cute !
Where else would an alternator go?

First time posing here so cant do photos.
LS Engines are nothing new but should be considered for marine use. I have BBC's in other boats, love them, but long in the tooth. Putting my mouth here and saying I have a build in progress with a LS going in a new 28 foot cat now, 4.5 Whipple, Dyno'ed at 1325hp/1160tq on 91 with Holly ECU and over 500 lbs less than any Mercury or BBC.not to mention parts are available anywhere. There are still an old fart or two here on the low doing one offs at the moment. Looked at Nelson but went with Borowski for the LS. You don't have to pay to play big $$ as stated just for an ECU that does everything but scratch your A$$.
