Looking to get some ideas on painting marine cast iron engines.
Painting the blower and intake as well. Potentially aluminum heads.
Some good threads on painting marine engines on here, but wanted to get some recent info as the paint regs seem to always be changing.
Rattle cans seem to be a reasonable option, and color matching is cheap and easy for future touch-ups.
I like blue, and specifically the Merc blue, but I don't need an exact match.
My plan for the supercharger is to blast the surface and apply zinc chromate to prime. Then use the same engine enamel as alum rocker covers and intake.
The cast iron block I'll probably go with a black or charcoal. Something like that.
All gloss or clear coated.
What is a good paint these days?
Thanks
