Looking for help with head gasket recommendations, a lot of the threads I’ve seen are older and I know gasket technology has changed. I’ve got a brand new gen 6 stock bore 502 with iron heads . Basic stock set up for a carbed hp500. Fresh water boat that is open loop cooling. I want to go cometic gaskets unless someone convinces me different but I’m unsure of sizing with cometic there are so many variables with multi layer, gasket thickness, bore size etc… would love to hear some part #s others have used? I’ve called cometic and left a voicemail,left a message on there website,and sent an email with no response

I have never had an issue just using the Fel Pro marine stock replacement gaskets. If you were going to put a blower on it or something else I would consider going to an MLS gasket but for what you are doing there is no reason to reinvent the wheel.

If you really want to go with Cometic i will take a look in the catalog in the morning and post the correct part number to use.
