Default 351/408 sbf cam

This 408 is in a 69 Mach 1. Some of you may remember I had a couple other other threads on it as well. Regardless any cam suggestions. 3:55 rear and 4 speed manual. 11:1 comp with single plane intake and 950 Holley. Removing the j302 heads and have the promaxx project x 210 cc which are an excellent flowing head. Like to stay solid roller. 6,800-7,000 peak

looked at a couple lunati grinds that I liked.

250/255-630/640 lift or similar + - ???

I dont mind a little sluggish down low as it’s near impossible to hook up as it is.

I have a Bullet Cams custom grind 8620 core, tight lash solid roller that I'm selling. Has great street manners and easy on valve train. Made 490hp on my 9:1 352 (8.2 deck) with beat up 1 5/8 dyno headers(to small) and a 650 carb (to small- used just to break engine in on dyno). I think it will make peak hp at 6500ish on your combo.

Tks. I’m thinking a little more duration. Was that cam in a 351 CI. I’d think that duration in a 408 would shrink it and peak around 6k however not certain. It’s a forged bottom end and ideally like to be up near 6,700 ish.

they do have great grinds though and yours likely have a ton of down low end torque.

The cam was in a 352 (8.2/3.4 stroke). With to small carb and headers it made peak hp at 6700. It would have been over 7000 if it was able to breathe better.

My current cam is 228/228 and makes peak power over 7000, boosted. That's 10/14 degrees less duration.
