Default resealing a Bomar hatch question

So I am sick of every time it rains the underside of the hatch is wet and soaking the carpet, I removed the hatch and well lets say I opened a can of worms. Anyway one thing led to another and I cut the plexi window out of the frame since the caulk was all mildewed. I have a new Bomar gasket but what do you think is the best material to reseal in the window? I was going to use a window/bath caulk from home depot but I figured it is not the proper product for this, do I use 4200? I know if I go 5200 its never coming apart again. its a 16" Bomar hatch in a 96 Baja 252.

If you dot have plans on ever taking it apart again, for like paint work or some sort of repairs, then use the 5200 and be done with it. If you are planning something in the future then go with the 4200 so it will be slightly easier to get back apart.

Me personally i would probably use the 5200 on the plexy to seal that up permanently...the rest to seal up to the boat i would use something cheaper/less permanent in case you wanted to take it apart later.

MY fear is the foam rubber weather seal slips over the metal frame and is sandwiched by the plexi, if down the road I ever need to change that seal again i most likely will not be able too if its got 5200 on it. What was there I scraped out with a jeweler screwdriver so it for sure wasn't 5200 or even 4200 from factory.

then install the seal after the 5200 is fully cured and there should be no issues
