Default Kiekhaefer Trim Pump Leaking

Since late last year my trim pump has been leaking slowly into the bilge even when not in use. Looking at some other threads on here and other forums it seems like these are prone to spider cracking and I should just need to replace the reservoir. But some other people have said, "just make sure its not the cap" I have seen other other threads where people will get caps that have tubes in them and they run them into another bottle, but with where the fluid is on the reservoir I believe It is that.

I found this one on amazon and it looks like it would fit, but wanted to ask here to make sure I had the right part or if there was anything else to check.

Amazon Amazon

Here are pics of the trim pump I have today in my 2003 fountain.

Yep, I've used those with no problems. And for the price, get a couple spares for the next one that starts to leak.

why not just buy a replacement reservoir
if pump works good and just has the leak
them plastic reservoirs are prone to leak with age

That is the plan! The link i posted above is just the reservoir, new screws, and a o-ring seal.

Hey John,

Do you have a link to the metal canister? Curious what this looks like and the cost different, I would probably like that look better anyways.

Thanks,
Andrew

the pump valving is lil different as tank is bolted on from bottom to the valving housing and longer for the taller tank so not a reservoir swap
there is companies that make billet reservoirs to replace the plastic and dual pumps on 1 reservior to take up less room in bildge
