Default I need help asap please. Water stepping from both "weep" holes after impeller change.

5.7L mercruiser serial number 0F338035. Alpha 1 gen 2 serial number 0F333583. This is my first impeller change but I felt it went better then expected. I'm pretty positive the water tube went back where it was suppose to be as far as lining it up correctly. My question is, I have "weep" holes on both sides of the stern drive that has a small but steady stream of water coming out when testing new pump on garden hose. I can't swear it's never been there before but I most certainly haven't noticed it before. I'm attaching a picture I pulled off the internet to show where the water is coming through the "weep" holes. Is this normal or did I mess something up changing that impeller pump? I used the quicksilver pump kit. Thank you all in advance.

yea, this site says "You are not allowed to post URLs until you have at least 10 posts" when I try to add the picture. But there is 2 small hole, one on each side of the gear box just below the 2 rear bolts that hold the lower unit to the upper unit. They both have a steady stream of water coming out after impeller change. I guess I'm 9 post away from being able to add the photo
