Hi guys, so I assumed in summer weather a closed choke is maybe not needed for cold starts. But on my first tries ( above 70F ) it took 5- 6 tries to get the motor started. The choke is open ( set 1/4" ) above closed. Should it be more closed than that? It's a gen V 7.4L mercruiser. Thanks

Yes except not uniformly, On my previous two quadrajet carbed boats it was 2 pumps and started right up. This one varies between 3-6 pumps as well as some throttle. But probably gonna look at closing the choke a bit to hopefully improve this. Once running, its smooth at least.
