Default Total timing sbc 350

Guys I have a 1987 24’ Albemarle. It has a 1980-85 sbc350 with a Delco est dizzy and a qjet. The drive is a Volvo Penta dp 290. Im not getting more than 41-4200rpm. Props are the same prop that everyone with my boat runs. Rn my total timing is 33* at 3000. Can I go more timing? From what I can see the pistons are dished gm with what all I can assume is the stock 76cc heads. I def dnt want any detonating please help! I want need all the fuel eco I can get and hopefully a bit more speed! TIA
