Gotta agree on all three, Tommy. An amazing resto of Betty Cook's old boat, but the price is maybe what has been the major reason that
it has not been sold yet. It competes in many ways with many restored or upgraded Apache 41 and 47 poker run boats, but also plentiful
of Cigarette Racing Team Boats in lengths from 35'-42'.
The clean timeless Scarab 377 was a killer deal when it was complete with really nice engines and good drives. The boat had been completely
gone through and restored by Dan at Team Archer Marine several years back so it was immaculate and turn key. The boat is still a steal, but
it'll take a few bucks if somebody doesn't have access to a driveline to re-rig this staggered boat.
The Scarab 1 gotta be a lot of boat for the money if it checks out on a survey. Not everybody can handle owning an OceanPro Evinrude, but
it seems the current owner spent some money on it so it'll be fine for some time. All 3 boats very intriguing buys for the right caretakers.

Pretty cool 21’.
Dont think I’ve seen an OB.
W/a 17” wheel, it’s a turd though.
40 mph maybe???
And Lars, don’t be pickin on my JohnRudes!
The 250 V-6’s are actually great motors.
254 at the crank 247 at the prop.
Mine outran a Merc 225 Promax on a near identical tunnel boat.

If you hire it done, probably $10k-ish.
95% is porting.
Compression doesn’t help a 2 stroke like a car motor.
Helps acceleration but not top end.
Firing twice as often as a 4 stroke, the piston doesn’t have time to cool and you take off piston tops.
On that heavy of a hull youd have to retain decent low end to work.
A hot rod 2.5 Merc would never work.
These motors are alum blocks w/press in sleeves and stock sleeves, 3.6 liters in this motor can be bored to 4.0 liters.
So for the price of pistons and boring you pick up 400 CCs/24 cu ins.
Easy 400 hp, to 7500 rpm on pump gas @ 550 lbs, total weight.
Probably high 60’s on that hull??

I would think 500 pounds less and a jackplate would get you mid 70s at least. Was never an outboard fan but getting to old and fat to even think about dealing with a motor in a tight bilge anymore.
What’s a liner and rotating assembly go for these days ?
