Was at MCACN in Chicago Saturday and there were lots of rare muscle car engines on display and in the middle of them was a big blower engine. It looked like standard big block Chevy stuff other than the heads. Valve covers Said McLaren marine engine. The sign on the display said they were in a outerlinits that ran 130. Anyone know about this ?

HEMI 99 is one of the pro stock engine generations. So it’s some sort of 4.9 or 5.0” bore space tall deck monster. Pro stocks were typically around 9” deck height, because they are 500 ci. So this probably 10-11” of deck height, custom block. All of the heads may have been billet. Cool piece and would have been pretty state of the art 20 years ago.
They didn’t push it very hard or it’s blower limited. 500” Pro stocks made 1500hp.
