Default Trim tabs on 42 #6 staggered boat

Hey guys i am helping a friend determine the best placement for the trim tabs on an early 2000's 42. I always mount tabs flat horizontally and most Fountains are done that way these days but this 42 still has them mounted along the running surface V. Problem is this, later 42's had the swim platforms wings shortened to allow the tabs to be moved out to the hard chine. This 42 does not have that pocket so the tabs would have to be mounted further in. Has anyone done that on a 42 not originally made for flat tabs? thanks all

Hey Dave....Have no advice for your question and sorry to go off topic, but did my (former) white 27 mag sport ever get finished?.....people have been inquiring on whether its for sale or not. I know its been shrink wrapped for years now.

A buddy of mine mounted his tabs horizontal instead of on the running surface on his 42. He had to notch the fiberglass on the inside of the swim platform for it to work. Looks factory now that its completed.
