For good reasons, Skaters are the most reincarnated catamarans in the go-fast boating world, https://www.speedonthewater.com/upst...-28-catamaran/

A true wraparound windshield on a 28 is a game changer, and I love seeing another one get transformed! In my opinion it makes it much safer as occupants can actually communicate at speed, as your face is not getting ripped off from the 100+ mph "breeze". I love seeing another 28 "saved"! Great job.

i got to see that boat when local guy had it shipped here from overseas
as that boat was raced for all those yrs under many names and paint jobs
was pretty rough and went through many hands till mason got it to phil
phil did an awesome job on it replacing over 1/2 of the balsa core and the resto changes
paint is over the top
most dont understand how many hrs it takes to do that
so glad phil got it as in great hands for that much structure work
turned out great and cannot wait to see it running here locally

That's going to be one of the baddest 28s on the water! I'm surprised there's no mention of one of the coolest aspects of this 28 is that it's one of the few widened tunnel 28s Pete built. The standard tunnel width on a 28 is 45" (very narrow by today's standards) and I believe this one was widened 6" to 51" - which is close to the same as a 308 (52" wide tunnel). Glad to see they filled the notch in and they're putting the 300Rs on it to keep the boat running and flying level. It should still run right at 120 if the build didn't add a lot of weight and it gets dialed-in correctly. I'm pretty sure I ran against that boat at the 2002 SCOPE Poker Run when it was still a raceboat with 2.5s - it kicked my ass to the island back when I had my first 28 w/ 3.0/300s on it. There was no way I could stay with it in 2' - 3' swells, the better CG of the 2.5s and that widened tunnel were a combination my standard tunnel 28/3.0 setup couldn't hang with. I hope to see a full write-up on this rig when after it hits the water. It also needs to show up at Skaterfest next year!

agree 100% with u skate 30
always looked good back then on the race course
do u know how many names/teams it went through?
but now converted to pleasure and all the surgery to bring back to life,
will be a head turner with the 300rs
my old 28 had them put on it and with just hill props and all around use set up went to 116 easily
so agree wider with extended sponsoms and 300rs should hit the 120 spot
mason is here in texas
so if skaterfest is here again next yr i also hope it makes it
we got the 28-1 back on the water and went to skaterfest this yr
be good seeing some of the cool skaters back on the water
