Default 400ss transport recommendations?????? Tavernier FL to Deltaville VA

I ran the ICW from VA to the FL keys this winter and fly down every couple weeks to enjoy boating in the warm waters around Islamorada. For the return, instead of running the ICW north I am considering hiring someone to transport the boat back. I'm looking for recommendations for/against using transporters you guys know.

Boat is a Formula 400ss. 42 ft long, 11.5 wide with a hard top. It weighs 18,000 dry. The radar, KVH can fair easily be removed (I may do it when down there) to fit on a lowboy or low trailer. Transport would be from Tavernier FL (or run it up to Ft Lauderdale area) to Deltaville VA. Both locations have travel lifts.

Also: Recently I saw a fakebook post for Outlaw Transport/Jeff Murray. I recall many years ago his name was mentioned here frequently. If you know/you know. However, that was a long time ago, is there any reason to avoid this person now? (feel free to PM me if you wish).

I’ve known Jeff a long time and he does all my transport when I buy my boats. He does a ton of transport for DCB, MTI, Skater, and OL. His trucks have big cargo insurance too because the boats are expensive. He does have a low boy trailer too. He’s not the cheapest, but you don’t have to worry either.

No reason to avoid Jeff Murray as far as I know. I have not heard of anybody who has not been satisfied with his transports. He transported a boat from California to Nebraska for a friend of mine, had good communication and kept my friend updated on the timeline.

I didn't list any details about Jeff because I wasn't certain my memory was correct (I thought he was wrapped up in a strange/bad deal 15-20 years ago). If you guys say he's good then he'll be one I inquire with.

Just let me you hold your credit card, and I'll run it up the coast for you.

I guess left out one detail......I'm going to use the boat often thru March. I'll bring it back roughly April 1st (+/- a week or 2).

I ran the boat down and the trip wasn't that bad other than the wind kept us on the inside for nearly the entire trip. If I run it home I'm hoping the wind lays down and I can run most of the way on the outside. Burning roughly 1.5 mpg the cost to haul it is likely close to fuel running it back........the challenge is the time away from work.
