Default Link Belt

I know this might be a stupid question, but i’m gonna ask it anyway, has anybody used a link belt on their alternator?I put one on my table saw and it runs a lot smoother with less vibration, it just got me thinking.

Link belts are for fractional horsepower motors/loads... A stock alternator, say 65 amps @14.4v @ 50% efficiency (pretty normal efficiency for alternator) would be about 1.8kW, which is roughly 2.4HP.
Not saying it won't work, but if its slipping, your going to induce even more heat into the alternator and kill your bearings and windings, so I wouldn't advise it... A better upgrade (while much more expensive) would be to convert to a multirib belt/pulley setup.
