Default WTF is a Fjordling?

Guys. What do you think about the Fjordling boats? Quite a hype in Europe and would be something to see here in the States soon.
Always a nice project to rebuild grandpa’s old fishing boat to something insanely cool.

Think I can't post links yet but will do when I have enough comments made.

There are some reels going around FB of some pretty bad wrecks in them.

He knows his stuff, but not enough yet to eclipse the 60-plus years of knowledge among mainly the Norwegians and some Swedes.

My brother and I got one for our dad on his 80th Birthday. He had always wanted one but never pulled the trigger. 24 degree vee at

transom and a stabilizing water tunnel at rest. 135 Optimax and 43 knots at WOT. With 200 hp plus, tabs, and a power bracket these

boats are lots of fun. We got our father the Generation II version, 1974 and newer, since they run better and are better built.

The totally restored one, available for sale in Florida now for $75,000, is actually quite a bargain since it's basically a new boat.

Very cool boats, in a retro way, but you’d want to learn how to drive them before having too much fun.

It makes me wonder about several boats designed and built 50-60 years ago when 100hp was about the biggest outboard available. I can name a few Aussie manufacturers who built deep V half cabins and runabouts that ran 40mph at the time. (No doubt there’s many many more U.S. examples) How many of those old hulls could run 80 mph with current power and a few mods? A fun project that could end in disaster……..

Austin of Florida, had race boat builder Nitra Boats of Sweden do the total resto of this 1969 Fjordling 17 HT.

He previously bought a Nitra 22 SS composite race boat from them and it latest competed in OPA Class 7 as

'Team Mean Streak' out of New York.

Funny how boats move across the ocean depending on exchange rates.

In the early nineties, when the Swedish krona cost twice as much in dollars as it does today, Skater had a representative in Sweden…

Theres a few overseas that are pretty sick. One has an inboard ls1 set up with a see through engine hatch that looks pretty cool, and a few big hp outboards. Literally running on just the plug lol.
