Probably the biggest scam on Ebay if you look under used boat for sale. You'll see many junk boats selling for $1.99. Plus their fee of $399 if you read their add throughout.
There are from time to time a few decent prospects that come up and usually sell for cheap all over the nation.
But i warn you, they don't have possession of these boats, no title for the boat, and no contact for months with the actual owner.
They force you to pay out side of EBay check out. So they make you send a venmo, or check. And they will be down right nasty about their messages for payment.
So if you continue and get them paid. They will send you a contact name and number. To
which this person has no idea that you're reaching out to come get their boat.
They think they've donated to a Veterans for Boats website. But little do they know, they are just giving up their boat for an online scam.
Auction liquidator doesn't donate to vets or any other donation site. The boat ownees i've actually dealt with are very suspicious and ask for the tax right off info. To which i had no idea. They are just effectively giving away the boat. And most of the time the boat owners won't give you the boat you won. Or already sold it. So then leads to the best part. Since you didn't do the sale through ebay. They are not so willing to refund you either. Takes weeks if at all. They won't respond most of the time. So you're just sending email after email. And ebay won't do a dam thing to help. Because you didn't use the check out.
long and short, don't waste your time, your money, or get your hopes up on anything they have up for auction. No matter how new, old, cheap, it is. You're just wasting your time and money. Michael

so many listing on there you can't miss it. Ebay isn't going to stop them. And when you buy. They don't let ebay know you paid. So then ebay cancels your win. Puts your account under bad terms for not paying. When you actually did pay.

Honestly, I've bought a few boats from Ebay. And One Dollar boats is the worst. I did file a report and talked on the phone with ebay today. And since venmo will do claims as well i made one with them today as well. Hate getting ripped off and on ebay it just makes it worse.

Few things-
if you called eBay you wasted your time. You got someone who just wants you off the phone for their metrics. Use the report seller link and be sure to go on about how they required payment outside of eBay and the fact the do not own the boats and do not have titles. Do the same through messaging the eBay page on Facebook. They used to have a seller page but it merged with the main eBay page about 9 months ago.
eBay has pushed off the consignment stuff pretty hard in the last few years. Drop shipping is very hard to get approved for.
I would also argue my case to eBay on Facebook to remove the non paying buyer strike if you can. I know I keep my account to not allow anyone with a non pay in the last year to buy or bid on anything.
eBay’s come a long way in the last few years and someone not having or owning the product they are selling is a big no no. They’ll get the reports and when the seller gets that mc011 suspension they need to get through I doubt they’ll be able to without owning everything.

I called and explained myself. They walked me through the report a seller. And at least got the process started. You did remind me of something very important. And grateful you did. The part of them selling something they don't own, they don't physically have, and selling something they haven't even agree'd to sell with the actual owner violates ebays terms.
