Default Lamborghini yacht sinks in Miami with 32 people on board

I haven’t heard the cause, but wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t something crazy like 30 people all stood at the back of the boat. Somebody’s heartbroken tonight..

Was thinking the same thing with that grand staircase on the stern. Guess that'll be up for auction soon.

Whenever in Miami we love to have dinner at Garcias and watch all of the happenings on the Miami River, especially with all of the partiers on chartered yachts. Non boat peopel have no idea. Bummer to see such a nice boat go down.

Surprised the Yacht went down with all the silicon flotation devices walking on its decks.

He just picked it up from the boat yard after having the surface drive seals replaced.

That is terrible, apparently there is an issue with the installation and or materials used for the seal(s) replacement I assume based on your post. Thank you for update.

that much weight can push bilge discharges and deck scuppers underwater

When I worked for Viking. On all under the water line work. We dipped the yacht in the water, holding it in the lift, and checked EVERY hull penetration. After testing and When satisfied, we tied her to the dock.
With surface drives just done on Lamborghini. A sea trial should have been done.. Maybe there was. The truth will emerge in time.

It’s a 24 ton boat. I wouldn’t think 4-5000 lbs of passengers would sink it. I mean it’s not prudent. But it should be able to handle it.

By my math that load would it push it down an inch or less.

It can also hold 6500lbs worth of fuel.

No matter what the total passenger weight is. Is it just me? Or does 32 passengers on a 63 foot yacht seem a bit extreme? I'm thinking 20 peopleTOPS.
