Default Can windshields be sanded and polished?

I bought a boat that has a large thick windshield that has distortions. It seems to have slight ripples from being curved looking forward. I am thinking it could be block sanded and then polished. Anyone with ideas on that?

It can be done based on the material and if it has a scratch resistant coating the results may vary......... We have done a few 1/4 canopies, sanded, polished and painted the edges on Skaters. Some of them turned out really nice but they are all a ton of work. If you damage a canopy or your one off windshield the replacement options are pretty limited. Message me if you need any help.
