Hi everyone!
I’m really fascinated by Chaudron boats – I think they look absolutely awesome. I was wondering if anyone here owns one or has experience with them?
If so, I’d love to hear what engine you're running and what kind of top speed you're getting. Always fun to learn more about how these boats perform in the real world.
Thanks in advance – looking forward to hearing from you!
Best,

I was lucky enough to get a ride in the orange 22 that is currently listed for sale this past weekend. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable of the setup. The build quality is second to none. The boat blasted over a moderate wind swept Lake Ontario chop with ease and comfort. That boat is rigged with a 300R and depending on prop is a high 80s bumping 90 with unbelievable mid range acceleration. A 225 or 250 would be a good choice IMO. Jared at Norwester Marine Group has the most seat time in the brand since they sell the boats with rigging at TNT. He’s definitely the man in know on Chaudron boats.

Thanks a lot for the reply, that sounds like an awesome experience. Really cool to hear how well the 22 handles chop and that the build quality is top notch. Hitting high 80s or even 90 with a 300R is super impressive. Sounds like it has great mid range punch too.
I’ve looked at some of the photos and videos from Norwester Marine and those boats look seriously cool

I've crawled all over that boat at TNT before it was delivered. It is beautiful, wiring under dash was neat and tidy. I loved it. I would love to have it, but my wife said no. Lol She wants a bigger boat.

I know exactly what you mean. It is a beautiful boat and the build quality is really impressive. Everything is clean and well finished. Too bad your wife wants something bigger, but at least she is thinking boat.

Hi!
There is a Chaudron 25 PRO with a 300R here in Norway. It runs 87 mph with one person and 85 mph with 3 persons. Great fit and finish.
Chaudron been around for more than 25 years, and especially the last 10 years their product line have shapen up. Their 25 Pro is very alike at first sight with Phantom 25, a construction from late 70 ties. Chaudron done the bottom into a step, v pad notch bottom, and the speed increased with at least 10 mph. Phantom 25 was made for offshore racing, and they dominated with world champion wins during 80-90 ties. The standard speed was 75 mph with a 300 HP V8 Johnson. I have a Phantom 25 with a single 450R. It runs 94 mph.
Chaudron boats are top notch. Personally I like the SV29 very much, and it runs faster than 90 mph with a single 450R
Cheers Toffen

Hi Toffen
Thanks a lot for the detailed and helpful info. Really interesting to hear about the Chaudron 25 PRO and the comparison to the Phantom 25. 87 mph with one person sounds awesome and it’s clear Chaudron has done a solid job. Cool that you have a Phantom 25 with a 450R, 94 mph must be an absolute thrill
By the way when I checked Chaudron’s website I couldn’t find an SV29, only the SV27. So maybe that’s the one you meant. If the SV27 runs over 90 mph with a single 450R, that’s seriously impressive. They’ve clearly done something right with the steps and hull design to get that kind of performance
Thanks again for sharing your experience, I really appreciate it
Do you know how the Chaudron Pros 25 perform in rougher water? and compared to your Phantom 25? Especially since the Chaudron has a different bottom design with steps, I wonder how it handles when the waves pick up
Cheers

Wow, sounds like she really knows her boats. That’s a pretty impressive list. The Sonic 260 with 500 HP must have been a beast. A Cigarette Top Gun would be a serious step up. I’m sure you’ll find a great used one when the time is right.
