Got to the boat ramp this morning and one of my engines wouldn't start. Cranks fine, fuel pressure 60#. It appears to not have injector pulse and spark. Of course I don't have the right adapter for my Rinda scanner. Placed one on order. The fuses are good and battery voltage is good. Any common issues that come to mind? Crank sensor maybe? Always been an inboard guy with a few 2 stroke Merc fishing boats but this is my first time diving in to Verados. Any help appreciated. Thanks

I downloaded the repair manual and the only test that it gave for the crank sensor was to ohm it out. It calls for 300-350 ohms and mine showed open. I assume a new sensor will fix it. Have one scheduled for delivery today.

not familiar with those but sounds like you had no trigger to the coils, injectors etc which on nearly every computer engine I deal with is a crank or cam sensor issue. sounds like you are on the right track.

figured it would. I had a ski boat a few months ago that ran perfect when put in the climate control storage. they pulled it out this summer and wouldnt fire. crank sensor went out just sitting.

Sounds like you’re on the right track. If you’ve got no spark and no injector pulse, the crankshaft position sensor is a strong suspect, it controls both. Also worth checking the main engine harness connector for corrosion or a loose pin, especially on older Verados. Double-check the kill switch too; sometimes it’s overlooked and can cut spark/fuel.
