Default Blew a mayfair steering hose

Any one had issues with the fittings that come in the mayfair kit from hardin marine? I had to order extra fittings from them and the ones they sent were diffrent. The extra they sent fit much tighter. The ones that came with kit were bigger and fit kinda loose i was questioning them. Reached out and they said both fittings were compatible. Sure enough had one blew this weekend. Its was one of the big ones. luckly i was idling. Im familiar with these fittings i use them at work. I Always put a pice of tape on the hose to make sure it dont push out when installing

Why is it that those look completely under engineered to handle 2000+ PSI? And we know that shock loads are a completely different story.

Do you have the ability to pull them all out and make better connections with better fittings? I get it that adapters and bends and such need to happen. But jeez, that's a lot of potential leak and failure points.

It's a known issue back years ago. There are a few threads about it. I just get 2000+ psi stainless hydraulic hose off ebay or my local Parker store.

I blew a power steering hose a couple weeks ago (age related). I went to a local hydraulic shop. In and out in 15 minutes. $25 for the fitting $25 for the hose installed.
