Default Where to Paint Mercury Racing Lowers

I bought a boat that came with low hour 2023 Mercury Racing 300R outboards that have a lot of paint coming off on the lowers. I know this is a common problem. I'm in Port Charlotte, FL and having trouble even finding a Mercury dealer that wants to handle the warranty work. I've spoken with 3 so far. One dealer told me that Mercury is now telling him to sand them and hit them with a rattle can. That's complete B.S. for how much these engines cost! Does anyone know of a good paint shop that can do a lasting paint job somewhere between Tampa and Ft. Myers? I may just have to pay for it myself.

I've done quite a few of them with great results (not peeling). I was operations manager at a Mercury dealer in Bradenton Beach until the hurricanes shut us down.
I do mobile. Call if you like to discuss.

Thanks for the info. I'm on the schedule at Island Coast Marine to paint them under warranty. If that doesn't last, I'll try some of the other places that will cost me.

Several years back, I had my lowers painted in a body shop with a super hard epoxy gloss black. And then a few layers of clear.

They looked fantastic for years.

You might opt for another color that doesn’t show flaws like black, and is easier to touch up.
