Recently I have replaced the clutch cone of a AQ290 DP drive.

I have noticed that the upper gear shaft was loose and coul be pulled up for an inch or so.
This meant that the upper needle bearing became visible.
It felt as if I could pull it out by compressing the spring below the clucth cone.
The same behaviour could be replicated when rotating the input shaft coming from the engine in the opposite direction than the engine rotation.

Is it normal that the shaft can be moved up and down or is anything broken?
