Default Ao 2600 new to me questions

Hello and thank you in advance for any help. I'm redoing my interior. I'm also going to be swapping motors next spring.

Question anyone care to share the dimensions needed to clear a roots style blower in the hatch?
as in how wide and long of a cut out and where, obviously the center but how wide and long does it need to be.

Or pics would help.

Thank you VERY MUCH!

Denis

Morning and congratulations! I would PM Art DiNick (quest), although I haven’t seen him on this site for a while. He built these boats for a while and is very helpful with all questions related to AO boats. I owned a 26 for 5 years and loved the boat, good luck!

im picking up a 26 that im buying on friday 10/10. it had a roots blown set up in it and i can measure and take pictures if you would like. on another note, can anybody tell me how much power does it take to push a 97 2600 to 100 mph? this boat has an imco stand off box and will also have a bravo with a -2 imco lower.

That's a good question. I know American Offshore was promoting a 650HP in house motor that would push a 2600 to 100mph from the factory back in the day. It was a 502 base with a 420 Megablower. I purchased a 2600 NSX and thought 650 was the answer. It took me around 800HP to get there. I think 800HP is very achievable these days with a large cubic inch forced induction motor.
