New spring I want to experiment with different rake props to see how they affect hop. I had 17x35x16 on it last year and the 75 to 100 hop was massive and scary, at 100 the nose drops and the world become glass smooth. I'm wondering if moving to an 18 rake and a tad more pitch would help. twin 800 hp.

We are also working on the same setup, 36 Spectre with #6's 750-800hp. We are currently spinning OUT, 16.5 X 35 X 18 rake, it will run 120 but the hop is unacceptable. You can drive thru it but its not fun..... Talking to Brett at BBlades he recommends a low rake prop to help pick up the transom. The weight of the #6's versus the Bravos is an issue.
Is the notch filled in, what is your propshaft height and rotation?

I had a 16 rake and before that I had an even lower one and the last hop before 100 you'd swear it was sitting on the just the drive. Not fun. I think I'm turning out. My boat was born with #6 so it never had a notch. Ill have to look at propshaft height.

Generally the higher rake helps the hop.
You guys should try truning IN.
In theory it raises the transom and helps the boat start packing air.

We ran the boat with the props turning in and the hop was worse. These boats are lighter than your 3600, which is why yours likes the props spinning in. From what I can tell the transom is heavy with the 6’s and it struggles to carry the weight.
We tried adding weight to the nose to move the CG forward and it didn’t help, it actually made it worse.
Talking to the former owner of Red Dragon he had similar issues and results with prop rotation and the added weight. His boat had rocker plates in the notch and he ran a very low rake prop which helped his hop. His was around 80-90 and it was very minor.
On our 36 we added a bustle and tunnel extension hoping that would help the compression in the tunnel. I’m not sure a tunnel tab is the answer with 6’s but it would help get the boat on top the air quicker.

My boat has the cut out for the tunnel tab but I am not brave enough to run one, I would be worried about leaving it down. A buddy had the same set up except his drives were one inch higher than mine. His boat came factory with NXT set up from Mercruiser techs. He later added the 6's. he had 1200 hp per side. That boat is on the upper east coast now. He ran a high rake and had BAD hop issues so they put trim tabs on it, like a Vee would have. Last time I road in the boat we ran 133 with zero hop. He had the power to punch right through the hop range but it didn't matter hop was non existent. Now for the reason I would not consider this, he was running hard once and a tab literally snapped in half...that could be disastrously bad at speed.

I tried turning in and the ass end got real loose at higher speeds so next day switched back.
I wish I would have given it more time and testing because the tab cables had pulled out so what I thought was level with hull was who knows what . they would have been lower than I thought .
The hop did go away for the most part however.
That being said I do use the tabs to mitigate the hop at lower speeds.
Recently I went from a 15rake to 18 Rake and the hop is minimal.
Used to hop worse at 85mph .. now I can cruise at 85-90 with no hop at all. She get on top after mid 90`s.
85mph:
Every manufacturer is different , looks like the higher rake doesnt work on a Spectre.
