Default Surveyor wanted in the Trenton New Jersey area

I’m looking at a Formula 357 in Trenton New Jersey and I want to have the transom checked. The engines are newly rebuilt and I’m also wanting a mechanic to do a leak down test on the engines. They were rebuilt by a Lorenzo’s engine or machine shop also in the New Jersey or New York area. The broker gave me the name of a surveyor but I would like to get a couple of more names. Not saying his guy isn’t good but I would rather an independent survey for my own piece of mind. I’m in Louisiana so it’s not like I’m just around the corner from the boat to go and inspect.

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Do not use a surveyor recommended by teh listing broker. A friend of mine got screwed big time. Not saying that both surveyor and broker aren't good honest guys, but IMO, a complete conflict of interest.

If nobody recommends anybody, I would be looking for one on the NAMS and SAMS websites and doing my own research

Thank you Griff. I did speak to the recommended surveyor and got a really good vibe from him for whatever that’s worth. I’m not familiar with NAMS or SAMS so I’ll have to do a little research on that. Thank you.

I’m almost 100% that’s where the boat is located and listed by the owner of the marina. Maybe it’s not a marina but a dry storage facility.
