This might seem dumb
but I need to replace my starting batteries
Min 800 cca
So I searched for marine start batteries
Found 2 perfect matches
Built by same company
Both superior vibration protection, one 800 cca the other 830
same dimensions everything
One labeled marine start battery 279
same brand higher cca labled starting battery
same165..
what the heck is different
both have 3 year warranty. Both flooded cells
Same weight, etc
Boat is 1988 and the charging system is not built for agm
In fact it's weird
Both engines have alternators
and when battery switch is in Both
The 2 alts figure out how to charge etc
Anyway
Thought it was a good sort of thinker

is the model number of the battery different? Is the price different? What is keeping you from just choosing one or the other? If you are asking for advice...choose the higher CCA every time...all other things being the same.

If it has been working fine all these years with the 800CCA batteries then why mess with it. Put the same thing back. To be honest with you I have never changed a battery as preventive maintenance but I am only dealing with cars. They have always given me some type of warning before totally failing. If yours are working ok now personally I would leave them alone.
Just my opinion

everstart is brand.. I
Only thing different is posts or terminals
So the price must be terminal ends.
i am of terminal posts vice just a post
my omc book states 300 cca is specified...
Been doing tons of reading on it this afternoon
800 will be fine

interstates are in it now, usa built
eversyart are either usa, Germany or South korea
I just found the price swings to be worse than stuff for our 40 foot class A..
that has zero rv devices..
Except roof ac
I have to find an interstate dealer around me
