I wonder if the layup of the hull was lighter for a speed record or built to the standards of offshore racing? I totally get the "bit by the bug" situation LOL. What I thought by having a multi boat team should be easier ended up being harder.

awesome boats! matt thanks for a good story for the few of us that love V bottoms and big inboards. that kilo boat was my favorite for a long time that thing rocked i think it went 177 the other boat i think got named farm truck for the rear hatch design ....how about a story on how they are running 2 engines inline? one below the other with 2 drives or are they coupled together like american ethanol?

Im pretty sure it was staggered. Just had the deck cut down so low they ended up having an engine hatch that looked like a station wagon. I think Reggie 3 claimed it was running 184 past the kilo.

The videos of those kilo runs are some of my favorite of all time.

A vee bottom doing what most don’t believe possible.

the sound on the 177 kilo run was totaly awesome and is still the best! although theres a few videos of knucklehead thundering into key west that sounds great......anyone got a link to the reggi 177 run?
