Default A Miami Boat Show Jailbreak Opportunity

When you need a break from the convention center, head for the yacht display on Collins Avenue, https://speedonthewater.com/a-miami-...k-opportunity/

matt why not do a comparison between the huge center consoles and a few offshore fishing boats ?( Viking makes both) the comfort in the new fishing boats is pretty darn wild! even with big diesels the mileage has got to be better than 6 outboards?

[QUOTE=boostbros;4941861 and a few offshore fishing boats ?[/QUOTE]

The 42 Freeman is an amazing boat. I have not been on one, but have seen them up close and personal at the docks of the Miami show. It would be interesting to test the ride and performance qualities against the MTI center consoles. 42' vs 42' (or as close as possible)

Its like comparing your 28' Skater to a 28' Baja Sport. No comparison, the Freeman goes over everything. If they would make one in a luxury pleasure version the lake would be flooded with them like it is 42Vs. We are going to see versions coming soon but the ability to trailer and slip them is a serious downside.

That is a great story idea, but I am not the write for it. Not that I know everything about big outboard-powered center consoles, but I know almost nothing about diesel-powered fishing boats.

When we had our Florida place I regularly took our 26' Glacier Bay "fishing cat" out 75-100 miles. It handles the waves better than most 34' v bottoms. I bought it because of docking length constraints on our canal dock, but was soon sold on them. They are ugly and a real pig to tow, but they are a wave crusher (or would it be wave cutter?). I cannot imagine what the 42 Freeman would do. On another note, we really liked the square bow instead of it coming to a point as guys could actually fish up there. When will be the first Freeman at the lake?
